Meet Your Doula

Hi! I’m Doula Amanda.

I am a momma, a wife, a lover of staying active, and a lover of learning. Supporting families’ choices during childbirth is my jam. The pelvis and pelvic floor is my peanut butter. Bringing them both together as a birth doula to help you experience the birth you envision is the perfect combo.

… if you are looking for a doula that is confident, adaptable to your needs and choices, and committed to helping you feel calm and in control, I’m the doula for you.

…if you are looking for someone to guide you through labor encouragingly, I’m the doula for you.

…if you are looking for someone to help you relax & resist tension, this is my yogi sweet spot, I’m the doula for you.

The birth of my son led me here to support you during one of the best, yet vulnerable, times of your life. Going through an experience that left me feeling defeated and tiny inspired me to help other families never feel the same way. I aim to do this by supporting you in an unbiased way as you plan and navigate choices during birth. No matter if you are choosing a home birth or a medicated hospital birth, I will respect your choices while providing individually tailored support aimed towards creating the best possible birth experience.

What Makes Me Different?

Prenatal yoga focusing on alignment and hands-on pain relief during the last trimester.

Because of my background and training in yoga, I heavily incorporate breathing techniques in my coaching during your labor, during pregnancy I suggest ways to use your body mechanics/stretching/ and yoga to make labor EASIER! During labor, I suggest positions and help you into them, to assist in the baby's descent and to create space in the pelvis- making labor faster and more comfortable!

Who wouldn’t want that?!

What clients are saying…

  • Amanda was the saving grace in our birth experience. My husband and I still regularly talk about how thankful we were to have her during our birth of our first child. It was such a difficult, long labor and Amanda never left my side. We truly do not know what we would've done without her. Not only was she incredibly supportive and nurturing during labor, but the weeks leading up to it, she worked through so much with us. She is skilled and knowledgable and made us feel so confident and comfortable, knowing we had her with us. I cannot recommend her enough.

  • Doula Amanda was the best! We felt supported throughout our entire pregnancy, and her support through labor and delivery was fabulous. Amanda's presence was warm and reassuring, and we felt respected and valued every step of the way. Would absolutely recommend!

  • I was ecstatic to find out I was pregnant with my first child, had a beautiful pregnancy and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 30 weeks. During that time I learned my dear sister in law, Amanda, was studying to become a birth doula. I didn't know I needed one but was intrigued by her knowledge preparing me for birth. I was scheduled for induction at 39 weeks, and fortunately that gave us a firm date to plan her arrival since she's from Ohio and we live in Baltimore MD... She arrived first thing, equipped with several props. This day was long and exhausting, she kept us company to pass time. This day I NEEDED A DOULA! Myself and especially my husband was distracted with simply her presence. Overnight she tracked contractions and guided me through yoga poses to ease my intense back labor. At 8am, 4/30 I was presented with a few options to relieve the pain (my initial birth plan was natural labor) she further explained and supported my decision to get an epidural. We passed the time listening to music, which helped with breathing during birth. Her professionalism and ability to be at the right hand of my Dr and delivery nurse came naturally, no one would have guessed it was her first experience. At 2:35pm my son -her nephew, was born unresponsive, a team rushed in, within a minute he was breathing and crying. She never left my side and reassured us until the moment he was laid in my arms. Per my request, she was taking photos of every moment that I will forever cherish. I can't imagine what would have been different if I didn't have a doula, but I do know I will never birth without one!
